Welcome to Direct Democracy.

This site is aimed at everyone on the planet who wants to control their own destiny in life. Not only their own life but the lives of others around them. This site will ultimately raise issues that will also bring to the forefront the need for the human race to manage this fragile planet we inhabit and all life upon its surface and in the oceans.

We have relinquished the ability to make decisions collectively. Instead we deploy that responsibility to our elected representatives once every 4 or 5 years. However, it has become apparent over the last 100 years or so that they are incapable of using this power for the betterment of the human species and this planet. We think we are doing the right thing but really we are passing the buck! We have been given a special gift that enables us to create and construct by using our intelligence. However, with that gift comes great responsibility. It is a responsibility that we are all too eager to pass to someone else. Let them take the responsibility! I vote for them to take the responsibility!

The time has come upon us now to take individual responsibility for the way we lead our lives and the impact that path has on the rest of the planet. Deep down we know what we need to do. Deep down we also have the spirit to undertake the tasks ahead. We need to take back the power we give to the politicians and use it for what we know to be good and true. We need to stand up vocally and be heard.  We need direct democracy. My greatest concern is that my great, great-children will be sitting in the dark and cold asking their parents why did great, great-granddad help destroy this planet?

However, before we can do any of that we need to use our skills and creativity to construct a viable alternative method of Government that will allow us to change from one form of collective responsibility to another. Namely, from a representative democracy to direct democracy. From the control of the politicians to the control of the people. That is what this site aims to achieve.

Please spend a few minutes of your life browsing this site. If you think direct democracy makes sense then please register and participate. PLEASE, please help me improve it and get more people involved. This site ultimately should be run for the people, by the people. If you do not think it makes sense, then carry on voting for your local politician, but just pay a bit more attention to what they do in YOUR name.
